Boomerang Express

The theme this year at Vacation Bible School was Boomerang Express!
The whole church was transformed into an Australian Outback.

The kids shirts were awesome!
They had Boomerang Express on the front.
On the back they said It All Comes Back To Jesus!

Every year VBS is wonderful!
It is a huge highlight of the summer!
This year was extra special!
On the last day of VBS, Kayleigh accepted Christ in her life!
She spoke with Bro. Darryl about being Baptized!
We are so excited for her decision!

The Master's Plan

Learning To Yield

Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and too will love him and show myself to him.
John 14:21

Although we wnjoy a personal relationship with God, we must also remember that we are not His equal. He alone is God.(Just like the song/video from last week: "You Are God Alone") Only by His grace does He allow us to fit in to His plan of brining about His kingdom.

Discipline- training that corrects, molds, or perfects character.

God's Call

Understanding Our True Purpose

"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
Jeremiah 29:11-13

In surrendering our dreams and expectations, we often find ourselves confronting the very fears that drove us to worship our "I wants."

God wants us to want Him!
As God reveals our fears and those things to which we cling that keep us from Him, He is always there to lift us to Himself.

Unexpected Detours

Surrendering Our Dreams

You shall have no other gods before me....For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.
Exodus 20:3,5

We all have expectations for our lives. Each of us harbors dreams and hopes in our hearts that we hope will define our lives. Dreams and hopes offer us a sense of purpose and meaning.

Purpose is "something set up as an object or end to be attained: intention."

God's Intentions

"The Lord Almighty has sworn, 'Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will stand.'"
Isaiah 14:24,26-27

We were made for God's purposes; God was not created for our purposes.

This lesson taught me about not being selfish in my own hopes and dreams!
I am so thankful that God includes us in his plans!
I am learning to let God show me in His time what His hopes and dreams are for me & my family!

Family & Fireworks!!

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays!
It has always been a huge event with my family!
It has expanded over the years as the family has grown.
This year was Family, Food & Fireworks!

It all started on Friday the 3rd!
We went out to Mom & Davids. We had hamburgers & hot dogs!
Casey & the girls enjoyed shooting fireworks!

Nathalie was not real happy about it at first but towards the end she joined in the festivities!

Kayleigh enjoys being able to help Casey with lighting the fireworks!
She knows all about being safe!

Emily enjoys the poppers & confetti shooters!

They all like sparklers!

They even help with the clean up!

On Saturday the 4th (Day), we went over to Dad & Nancies.
Both sides of the family attended! It is always nice when we can get together.
We had lots of good food!

The girls didn't get to swim, but I got some really cute pictures of the boys!
Andy in his Transformer trunks! Tommy (looks like a seal) so cute!

On Saturday the 4th (Night), we went over to my friends Ginger & Davids!
About 8 other couples & their kids all (25+) attended.
We all brought food to share & fireworks to shoot.

We had a great time! Ginger & I share a best friend (Brooke)!
Ginger's little boy Jack, Brooke's girls Chloe & Macie & the girls all played!
We watched the guys do the fireworks despite the rain!

This was one of the best 4th of Julys ever! God Bless America!

Battle Hymn

This arrangement of "The Battle Hymn Of The Republic" is performed by four high school choirs, plus a little kid's choir of elementary school children.
The little kids get the first verse to themselves, then the high schoolers join in. A small band accompanies the choir. The soundtrack is taken from a video made by one of the performing students father.
