Kell House Christmas

The girls were fortunate to participate in the Kell House Christmas again this year! This was Kayleigh's 6th year & Emily's 2nd. They really enjoy it & are willing to do it as long as the Kell House needs them! The girls, play the role of Cybil & Mary Jo Kell. The host reads a story "Tuggle's Toy Shop" & when the girls hear the bell ring, they are to come down the stairs & check their stockings. When they see that Santa has left them nothing, they are to pout & stomp back up the stairs! It is a very small part & the girls hope to graduate to a larger role in the future.

Projects & Crafts

We have had a lot of projects & crafts for school over the past weeks!
The girls also enjoyed making paper rings, bracelets & crowns!
They are wearing them in the pictures with their projects!

Emily's was to design a suit for Santa, because Mrs. Claus shrunk it. She also had to wright a letter to Santa & persuade him to use Emily's suit! We made a suit with a thermal shirt & fleece pants to keep him warm & a vest made of spandex so it could stretch. Emily was really excited about her project! They all look really cute hanging in the hall at school!

Santa's Emergency Suit

Nathalie's craft was to make a Boot Stocking! She helped pick out the supplies, but when the Elmer's glue wouldn't stick I had to use the hot glue gun! Again, they all look so cute hanging at her pre-school.

Boot Stocking

Kayleigh had to make a volcano for Science! Casey had the great idea to use a Christmas tree stand! The only requirement was to have a 20oz. bottle to support the explosion. We used felt, sandpaper, moss, rocks & paint. We had a lot of fun making it! Kayleigh also had to write a paper about different kinds of volcanoes & about her volcano & the supplies she used! She was so proud & we were proud of her too!

Go ROHO!!

I know my girls will never be Rider Raiders, but it was fun to get a pic of them! Like I said in the last post, we went to a program at Rider. It was fun to go back! It was the 1st time I had been in the school since I graduated in 1998! It still looks pretty much the same! The girls & I walked up & down the halls, & I enjoyed answering all the questions they asked me!

Here are a few of the ?:

Momma do you remember which locker was yours?
I had no idea!?!

Momma what was your favorite class?
It was a tie between Child Development & Marketing

Momma did you ever get in trouble at school?
No, I was such a good girl!!
(Hey, there are some things they don't need to know)

We had a good time! Go ROHO!!

Little Women & Willy Wonka

What a combination!!

A few weeks ago we went to see Little Women at Wichita Theatre.
It was really good!

I have always enjoyed the movie!
I am also the proud owner of the book!

Little Women
hardback 1922 edition

This jewel of a book was given to me by Page Scott. She was a very special lady that I worked for from 1999 to 2002. I felt so honored when she gave me her favorite book from her childhood.

We also went to see Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory at Rider High School.
The play was put on by students from Crockett Elementary. This is the school were my mom works.

The program was very cute & the kids did an excellent job!

Diamond Divas

Kayleigh was really happy to start baseball season! This year, she is playing for a new team: Diamond Divas. Kayleigh is playing for the same coach she had for basketball: Glenn Allbrighton.

Kayleigh & the Diamond Divas are off to a good start! They won both of their scrimmage games! Yeah!! They lost their 1st game to Petrolia Crush.

They really made a come back on their 2nd game!! They played Technique & won 16 to 0!! Kayleigh has continued playing as the pitcher! She got 2 players out with strikes! Way to go!! Kayleigh scored a 3rd out by tagging the runner from home to 1st base!

Here are a few pics of Kayleigh in action:

The Muterspaugh Family

This past weekend we had a surprise visit from Aunt Dee & Aunt Jann! My Dad comes from a large family & most of them live out of state. Aunt Jann lives in California, so we don't get to see her that often. Aunt Dee lives closer, in the Dallas are so we are able to see her more. When we do get to see them it is always special!

Here is a pic of the Muterspaugh Family!

Dee & Jann are only 2 of my Dad's sisters. There are 4 all together! He has an older sister, Lucy who lives in New Mexico. Last but not least, a younger sister Mary who lives in Houston. My Dad also has a brother, Pat who lives in Colorado.

Another Sara Stone!?!?!?

All I can say, is that these children (Sara & Matthew) captured our hearts in only 3 short days!! Are you wondering who they are & where did they come from!?!

Here is the story:

My best friend & her husband celebrated their 11th anniversary last week. They were going out of town for several days & asked if Casey & I could keep 2 of their children! Considering that we already have 3 of our own we were a little reluctant.

Knowing their trip was well deserved, I told her we would keep them. So for 3 days last week we had 4 year old Sara & 14 month old Matthew!

We were excited to have a son for 3 days! :) Matthew is the sweetest little boy! He never even shed a tear. He only fussed 1 time, & that was because he was sleepy.

He loved to rock, which is 1 of my favorite things to do! He just put his little arms around me & snuggled! It just melted my heart!!

Matthew loved Emily, our middle daughter! He would grin at her & then screech real loud! Emily loved Matthew because he had blue eyes like hers.

Sara fit right in with our 3 girls. Again, my heart just melted!! It was time to eat & as always, we said the prayer. I asked Sara if there was a prayer that they say at home. She said yes, I can say a prayer too.

Here was Sara's prayer:

Dear Jesus,
Thank you for Mommies & Daddies,
Thank you for Daughters & Brothers,
Thank you for Outside,
Thank you for the Food,
I Love You Jesus!
Amen
Our oldest daughter Kayleigh, couldn't believe Sara had made that up all on her own! By the time she was finished, I had tears in my eyes!
Our family enjoyed having Matthew & Sara as guests! I told my friend that anytime they go on a trip, we would be glad to keep their kids!!

HERO Baseball

This school year has really been a lot of fun, because our cousin Dylan is a SENIOR!! It wasn't so long ago we were watching Dylan play football! Now, we are going to Dylan's baseball games! The girls LOVE Dylan!!

I think it is neat that Dylan is a senior & Emily is in kindergarten! The beginning & the end!! It was the same way when Dylan's older sister Kylee was in school. Kylee was a senior & Kayleigh was in kindergarten!! WOW!! How time flies!!

Not only does Emily Love to watch Dylan, she LOVES spending time with her friend Regan! Emily & Regan started out in daycare together at 6 weeks of age. They are currently in the same kindergarten class!
